APTA seeks donations for Driver Appreciation Day prizes

DIEPPE, N.B. — The Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA) is reaching out to the industry in hopes it will help celebrate the men and women who keep Canada moving during National Transportation Week.

As always, the ATPA’s Safety Council will be hosting a Driver Appreciation Day this year. It’s slated for Sept. 8-9 at the Truro Heights Irving.

“This is one of the best opportunities to say a face to face thanks to all of the men and women who support us by doing what they do – move our freight up and down the roads, safety, securely and professionally day in and day out,” said APTA Safety Council chair, Dave Miller.

The Council is hoping industry suppliers will donate prizes that can be awarded to professional drivers during the festivities – items such as hats, t-shirts, key chains, mugs and gift cards. Donations can be sent to the APTA office and the association asks that they be sent in by Sept. 4.
