TROY, Mich. — ArvinMeritor has received an award for its use of Virtual Product Development (VPD) technology.

The award was presented by MSC.Software Corp. at the 2004 MSC Virtual Product Development Conference held in Huntington Beach, Cal. The company says the award recognizes ArvinMeritor’s leadership in advancing the implementation of VPD tools and processes to improve product performance in the automotive industry.

“Virtual Product Development is an important business strategy for ArvinMeritor,” said Dr. Shan Shih, chief engineer, analytical mechanics, for ArvinMeritor. “We’ve used VPD to streamline the product development process, which allows us to bring more robust, reliable products to market much quicker. We’re proud to receive this award from MSC.Software, a leading global provider of VPD software products.”

ArvinMeritor uses VPD for simulations, modeling, test correlation and development of integrated engineering tools and product knowledge databases.
