TILBURY, Ont. — ArvinMeritor will be closing its plant here, which manufactures truck brakes, according to a report by the Canadian Press.

The Canadian Auto Workers union confirmed the closure to the Canadian Press, claiming it was notified of the intended closure after a meeting with the company yesterday morning. The plant is slated to shut down June 3.

A lack of production and overcapacity in the industry were cited as causes for the closure.
