OAKVILLE, Ont. — ASL Distribution Services, a provider of full service third party logistics, has announced the appointment of Karen Hammel to vice-president, sales and marketing.

In her new role, Hammel will be responsible for directing business development and marketing activities; providing full logistic service solutions for customers requiring less-than-truck-load (LTL), truckload or courier transportation; as well as warehousing, fulfillment, consolidation and de-consolidation services.

Hammel has more than 20 years of experience in transportation and warehousing. ASL says Hammel is known for her abilities to strengthen brand recognition, develop new service offerings in response to customer demand and increase market growth. Previously with Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines (M-O) since early 2003, her responsibilities included development and execution of marketing strategies and sales programs. Prior to joining M-O, Hammel was director, sales and marketing with Totalline Transport for several years following her tenure with Transit Transport for 14 years after the two companies merged.
