ARLINGTON, Va. — The American Trucking Associations (ATA) today released its annual US Freight Transportation Forecast, which projects freight volumes to 2020.

The association dubs its forecast “one of the industry’s most respected and anticipated economic reports.” Key findings will be unveiled during an upcoming Webinar.

The latest forecast projects freight tonnage and revenue by mode to 2020, as well as the number of trucks that will be required to move the freight. It also includes historical data for al modes of freight, dating back to 1990, the association says. Customers who purchase the report will also be able to take part in the Webinar.

“The Forecast contains valuable information that can help our members and other trucking-related companies position themselves for success during the recovery,” said ATA president and CEO Bill Graves. “Trucking is a vital part of our nation’s economy, and this report offers keen insight into the near and long-term future of the industry.”

“We’re looking forward to going beyond the data tables and discussing what these numbers mean to fleets and other companies involved in the industry,” added ATA’s chief economist, Bob Costello. “Knowing what segments of manufacturing, for example, have the largest potential for growth over the forecast period is key for making business decisions.”

The report can be purchased at www.atabusinesssolutions.com or by calling 866-821-3468. The Webinars will be held Apr. 14 for members and Apr. 16 for non-members.
