Atlantic Driving Championships crowns winners

DIEPPE, NB – Team Atlantic’s roster is now set and ready to take on the rest of the country at the national finals of the Canadian Truck Driving Championships.

On June 7, the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association Safety Council hosted four dozen drivers as they competed in the Atlantic Driving Championships. The six first place winners came from the four competition classes (two axle, four axle, five axle and B-train), plus the team and rookie-of-the-year awards.

James L. Chambers of Armour Transportation Systems won the two-axle class. Herb Peters from Days & Ross Transportation Group took top honours in four axle. The five-axle winner was Robert Richard from Midland Transport Limited. Rob Stevens of Home Hardware Stores Limited won the B-train group. James Neal of Armour Transportation Systems was named rookie-of-the-year and Day & Ross earned the team award.

The individual winners will compete again in September in Quebec at the National Driving Championships.
