Atlas honors its ‘road warriors’

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Moving and storage giant Atlas Van Lines set aside a day this week to honor its 3,400-plus professional van operators across North America.

It’s 23rd annual ROAD (Recognizing Our Atlas Drivers) Day celebrates those “ROAD warriors” who pack, unload, and transport Atlas customers’ goods.

Atlas invited them earlier this week to gather at agent offices around Canada and the U.S. today for a day of food, fun and prizes.

"It’s been an especially busy summer for our van operators, and this is just one way we can reward them for their hard work," said Glen Dunkerson, chairman and CEO of Atlas World Group. "Atlas and our family of agents look forward to ROAD Day as a way to have some fun and publicly recognize our van operators."

ROAD Day celebrations include cookouts, catered breakfasts, picnics, competitions and other events. Van operators can win prizes such as gift cards, truck washes or weigh tickets.

This year, nearly 200 agents participated.
