Atlas Van Lines names new president

EVANSVILLE, IN – Atlas Van Lines announced a new president and chief operating officer (COO). The division of Atlas World Group named Joe Stackhouse to the role Tuesday.

Stackhouse comes to Atlas with a 30-year background in the telecommunications industry, including senior leadership positions with AT&T, Comcast Corporation, and Charter Communications. He most recently served as the president and COO of American Utility Management in Chicago.

In his new role, Stackhouse will be tasked with leading the Atlas Van Lines household goods division, which includes transportation services, corporate marketing, revenue distribution, customer service, agency development, information technology, and the Avail Move Management subsidiary.

Jack Griffin, vice chairman and CEO of Atlas World Group, says the company led an extensive search for the right person to take over the position, and Stackhouse’s energy and passion made him stand out.

Stackhouse says his experience in customer-focused industries will help him succeed at Atlas.

“I look forward to working closely with agents to build on Atlas’ past successes and create a sustainable future through Atlas’ overall strategic plan, which will produce results for years to come,” he said.
