Barrie facility named Volvo Dealer of Year; two other Canuck centres honoured
GREENSBORO, N.C. (Mar. 11, 2005) — Volvo Trucks North America has named Mid-Ontario Truck Centre in Barrie, Ont. its Canada 2004 Dealer of the Year.
Joining U.S. Dealer of the Year, GATR Volvo of Sauk Rapids, Minn., the two truck dealerships were honoured at the company’s North American Dealer Conference in Scottsdale, Ariz. for their exceptional performances for services in sales, parts sales, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
The dealer’s performance under the Symbols of Excellence program — which evaluates dealers in all areas of operations, including facilities, marketing and management, truck sales, parts and service, leasing, and best dealership practices — also was a factor in Dealer of the Year selection.
The top dealers for new truck sales and for sales of Volvo Power diesel engines were also recognized at the conference. The award was based on performance versus business plan, as well as sales volume.
Expressway Trucks of Waterloo, Ont. was named the top Volvo dealer in Canada for truck sales; while Berk’s Intertruck Ltd., of Nanaimo, B.C. was the top Volvo Power dealer in Canada.
“These dealers exemplify what Volvo strives for at all times: a premium dealership experience for customer support that goes the extra mile,” said Scott Kress, senior vice-president of sales & marketing, said in a press release. “A strong focus on the customer yields loyal customers and successful, profitable dealers. These Volvo dealers pay attention to details: better processes, more training, better facilities and enhanced customer support.”
