BCTA adds classified section to website

LANGLEY, B.C. — As part of their strategy to provide tools and support to members tackling labor shortages, the BC Trucking Association (BCTA) has added a new feature on their transportation career website.

The new Job Postings feature on www.getyourcareerontheroad.com and on www.bctrucking.com will link job seekers to industry employers in B.C. who are actively seeking employees.

“We wanted an obvious go-to site for job seekers in the trucking and bus industry in B.C.,” said Paul Landry, president and CEO of the association. “We designed our program Get Your Career on the Road to promote jobs in trucking, but at the time could only link through the website to a Canada-wide industry site on-line. We wanted a B.C. industry site, so we created one.”

Job seekers looking for industry jobs in B.C. can view available positions with BCTA member companies from the home page of either of BCTA’s websites. There are no fees and job seekers do not have to register with the BCTA.

BCTA represents more than 1,000 truck and bus fleets and industry suppliers in the province and expects the job postings site to become a significant job search tool.

“Part of our mandate is to get the word out to B.C. that good jobs are available,” Landry noted. “The transportation industry is a strong and vital one in B.C. and we work to keep it that way. That includes helping the industry find the people it needs.”
