LANGLEY, B.C. — The B.C. Trucking Association (BCTA) has lined up keynote speakers for its 2004 Annual Conference, slated for June 4-6 at Harrison Hot Springs.

Newly-minted provincial Transport Minister, Kevin Falcon, will speak at the luncheon according to BCTA’s Conference Committee. He will touch on the government’s progress in revitalizing the B.C. economy, as well as proposed infrastructure investments.

In addition, Special Agent Bob Thomasson of the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Administration will address "Trucks, Terrorism and Security" at the conference. He has instructed more than 43,000 law enforcement and industry officials in the field of overland in-transit criminal interdiction. He has also worked as an undercover truck driving smuggler at times and was commander of Louisiana’s counter-smuggling unit.

The Conference Committee will be sending out further information about the conference to its members in the coming weeks.
