BCTA Offers Cash to Picture-Perfect Trucking Teens

BCTA is sponsoring a Teen Photo Contest, open to anyone between the ages of 13 and 18 as long as the person’s mom, dad, step parent, foster parent or grandparent is a member of or works for a member of the BCTA.

VANCOUVER — One of the most photographed parts of the world is about to be even more photographed, thanks to the British Columbia Trucking Association (BCTA).

Starting now and running until June 28, the BCTA is sponsoring a Teen Photo Contest, open to anyone between the ages of 13 and 18 as long as the person’s mom, dad, step parent, foster parent or grandparent is a member of or works for a member of the BCTA.

The theme is commercial road transportation in B.C., including trucks and motor coaches.

Advises the BCTA: “Your photo should capture something about the industry — people, trucks, cargo, motor coaches, whatever you’d like to highlight. Creativity and imagination welcome!”

The first-place winner gets $400; second place $200 and third, $100.

The BCTA will post the entered photos as they come in on a special gallery at www.bctrucking.com.

The winner will be announced July 11, and the photos will be showcased at an open house at the BCTA headquarters in Langley on July 18.

The photo contest is part of the BCTA’s 100th Anniversary celebrations and organizers are hoping anyone who reads this story spreads the word about the contest to anybody who might be eligible.
