VANCOUVER, B.C. The British Columbia Trucking Association (BCTA) wants the province to adopt Alberta’s online model for issuing of permits.

BCTA officials representatives met with a consultant hired by the Commercial Vehicle Safety & Enforcement Division on December 29, 2005 to review and make recommendations on B.C.’s permit issuance system.

They also requested the development of basic principles for permit issuance, including annual term fleet permits, standardization of permit conditions, and rationalizing the permit fee schedule.
