Bendix officials named to top industry panels

ELYRIA, Ohio — Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC has announced that Joe McAleese, president and CEO, was elected to the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association’s (MEMA) board of directors as well as to the vice chairman position of the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA).

In addition, Jim Szudy, engineering manager of vehicle systems, was elected vice chairman of MEMA’s Heavy Duty Brake Manufacturers Council, a committee within HDMA.

“Joe and Jim’s respective elections to these prominent industry organizations are a reflection of their peers’ respect for their leadership skills, technical and industry knowledge, and exceptional service to the commercial vehicle industry,” said Bob Oswald, Bendix chairman. “We are honored to have the opportunity to help shape policy and the future direction for our industry through vital forums such as these.”

McAleese, who’s been with Bendix for 24 years, was appointed to his current position in 2003. He had most recently served as vice president and general manager, a position he held since 2001.
