ELYRIA, Ohio — Bendix has honoured five Canadian distributors who have earned a spot as “platinum” members of the company’s channel partner rewards program.

This year’s Bendix platinum distributors based in Canada, are: Fort Garry Industries of Winnipeg, Man.; Harman Heavy Vehicle Specialists of Kitchener, Ont.; Macpek of Ste-Foy, Que., Palmar of Montreal, Que.; and Parts for Trucks of Halifax, N.S.

“We’re proud to once again recognize top-quality distributors who continue to demonstrate outstanding achievement in both look and sales,” said John Flad, Bendix vice-president for aftermarket sales, North America. “In the program’s second year, we’re honoring 22 additional companies with platinum status when compared to 2007. The hard work of these fine distributors has helped to further strengthen and enhance the Bendix distribution network and ensure continued availability of genuine Bendix product in the aftermarket.”

Distributor performance is evaluated in six key business performance areas, according to Bendix. All distributors in the Bendix network earn scores that place them in one of four categories: bronze, silver, gold, or platinum. The highest-scoring distributors are rewarded on a sliding scale with enhanced support from Bendix. The program benefits Bendix as well, states the company, by strengthening the manufacturer’s channel partner relationships, through improved two-way communication and clearly defined annual expectations.

Bendix states that this program is unlike others in the heavy-duty parts industry, because it is based on objective performance measures versus solely on volume. All authorized Bendix distributors, regardless of size, have an equal opportunity to earn the program’s rewards, the company says.
