Bendix promotes aftermarket exec

ELYRIA, Ohio — Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems recently promoted Bob Johnson to vice president of aftermarket sales and marketing.

In his new role, Johnson will develop and lead the Bendix aftermarket sales and marketing effort, with a focus on driving and maintaining strong customer relations; leading effective partnerships throughout the distribution channel; and developing programs aimed at capitalizing on new and existing business opportunities to support continuous profitable business growth.

He succeeds John Flad, a 26-year commercial vehicle aftermarket veteran who retired from Bendix on March 31, 2009. Flad held the top aftermarket post at Bendix for more than a decade.

Johnson began his career with Bendix in 1989. For the past 20 years, he has progressed through a variety of marketing and sales positions in Elyria and the commercial vehicle aftermarket, including his appointment as aftermarket sales regional director for the Southern region in 2007.

Most recently, he was the director of marketing and communications.
