ELYRIA, Ohio — Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems has announced it has sold its fan drive/clutch business and its related assets to Kit Masters.

Kit Masters, based on Perham, Minn., specializes in remanufactured fan drives, rebuild kits and related accessories.

The deal was finalized Dec. 21, 2009 and as a result, Bendix has divested its fan drive operations. Kit Masters will manufacture, distribute and sell fan drive products under its existing Torquemaster FD-1, FD-3 and FD-L brand names, the companies announced.

Bendix says the move will better position it to focus on expanding its system solutions in the areas of energy management, specifically fuel savings and emissions-reducing technologies for diesel engine-powered commercial vehicles.
