LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems has built on the success of its XVision technology with a complete new suite of vision-enhancing products.

The company introduced its new Vision Systems suite at the Mid-America Truck Show. It’s the only 360-degree vision solution for drivers, the company says.

The plug-and-play products are designed to either work in conjunction with each other, or independently. The suite consists of the XVision system originally launched in 2001, an LED-assisted camera for side and rear vision, a joystick-operated pan-and-tilt thermal imaging camera and a flat-panel display unit.

The previously-released virtual projection head-up display unit will also continue to be available through the company.

“When the individual vision systems components are used together, they virtually eliminate ‘no zones’ by enhancing blind spot visibility all around the vehicle,” says Andreea Raaber, director of business development and new ventures with Bendix. “Basically, Bendix Vision Systems pick up where headlights and mirrors leave off.”

The company has recently identified the fire and rescue market segment as an excellent application for the technology.

The new line of products will be available Mar. 31.
