ROCKFORD, Ill. — Berstrom has announced it has acquired the HVAC business of Modine Manufacturing, increasing its ability to serve the off-highway and commercial vehicle markets.

Modine’s HVAC business served the off-highway, truck and school bus markets through major OEMs. Bergstrom says the acquisition represents significant growth for its production and manufacturing capabilities.

“This product line is a welcome addition to our core business,” said Jack Shaffer, president and COO of Bergstrom. “The acquisition enhances our product offerings in the HVAC market, and strengthens our ability to provide high-quality products to our customers in an efficient and timely manner.”

Bergstrom is moving Modine’s physical assets to its own company headquarters in Rockford, Ill.

“By combining the technology, expertise and manufacturing capabilities of two leading companies, we will continue to drive climate control innovations within the commercial vehicle industry,” said Dave Rydell, owner of Bergstrom. “In these times of economic uncertainty within our market, Bergstrom is proud to be able to supply additional jobs locally and keep these jobs in the US.”
