BRANTFORD, Ont. — The Brantford Traffic Club has announced its executive and president for the 2008/09 term. Paul Knill, Ross Jessop, Christine Reu, Lisa Mackay and Michael Hay will make up the executive while Jayne Gunn, recruiting specialist for Sunbury Transport, will serve as president.

Gunn, who will act as the 53rd president of the club, is also Canada’s only active board member with Women in Trucking.

“The Brantford Traffic Club is great representation of the city of Brantford and the transportation industry,” Gunn said. “My goal for this year is to provide our members with educational and informative speakers during our monthly meetings as well as foster new members to the club.”

Initiated in 1956, the club is a fellowship of members of all aspects of the transportation industry and the manufacturing sector.

The Brantford Traffic Club’s first dinner of the season will be held at the Best Western, 19 Holiday Dr. in Brantford Oct. 1. A guest speaker from Human Resource Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) will provide information on workplace best practices.
