LISLE, Ill. — Jim Hebe, the outspoken senior vice-president of North American sales operations with Navistar, has retired.

The company made the announcement this morning. Hebe has been with Navistar in his current role since 2008.

“Jim Hebe has been a significant figure in our industry for four decades,” said Jack Allen, president, Navistar North America truck and parts. “We have benefited greatly from his many contributions, perhaps none more important than Jim’s passion for developing deep customer relationships, which has become embedded within Navistar’s sales and marketing team. We thank him for his service and wish him the best in retirement.”

Hebe launched his career with International Harvester in 1971. He also spent time working with Kenworth, American LaFrance and Freightliner, where he served as president and CEO in 1992.
