Bridge authority appoints new board member

OTTAWA, Ont. — The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority announced the appointment of Anthony Annunziata to the board of directors for a period of three years.

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Annunziata to the board of directors of the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority,” said Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities. “His experience in project management, training, administration and marketing will be an asset for the authority.”

Annunziata holds a bachelor of arts in economics and a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Western Ontario, as well as a master of science in education from Canisius College in Buffalo. He is currently president of Vann Media Group in Niagara Falls, Ont.

Prior to joining Vann Media Group, Annunziata was executive director of marketing of the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort for four years and worked for Casino Niagara for a total of eight years as director of marketing. He also served as vice-chair of the board of Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership for five years.

The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority, a bi-national bridge authority, has owned and operated the Peace Bridge since 1933. The bridge, which was opened to traffic in 1927, spans the Niagara River between Fort Erie, Ont. and Buffalo, N.Y. The authority has a 10-member board with an equal number of representatives from Canada and the United States.
