Burnaby truck route to receive upgrades

BURNABY, B.C. — The City of Burnaby is asking TransLink to help it fund improvements to the truck route formerly known as the Marine Way-10th Ave. Connector.

The city is prepared to spend $4.2 million on the route but feels TransLink should pay for half of that since the roadway is part of the region’s major road network.

The city would like to see the section from Byrne Park Drive to the intersection of 20th St. and 10th Ave. four-laned. It is expected to take two years to complete the project.
