Can-Am pretrip reciprocity solidified

OTTAWA — Despite some concerns to the contrary, the U.S. and Canada have reaffirmed their ongoing agreement on pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration recently stated that U.S. jurisdictions will accept daily trip inspection reports on Canadian baseplated carriers as fully compliant with CFR 49 requirements.

Also, U.S. carriers who carry and produce at roadside pre- and post-trip inspection reports from the previous day will be deemed to have met CCMTA inspection requirements while in Canada.
