KIRKLAND, Wash. — Canadian Kenworth salesperson Robin Caron has captured first place in the Kenworth Medium Duty Walk-Around Competition. Kenworth salespeople from both Canada and the US participated in the event.

During the competition, which focused on the Kenworth T300, participants walk around the truck to discuss key features, advantages and benefits and are graded on their presentation. The six finalists won their district competition and then their region title to advance to the North American championship held at the recent Kenworth Dealer Meeting in Tucson, Ariz.

Caron of Tandet Kenworth in Ottawa, Ont., beat out the rest of the competition, capturing the championship and a $5,000 first prize.

Participants in the competition gained increased knowledge about Kenworths 2008 T300 Class 6 and Class 7 models, which is especially important with the addition of the new PACCAR PX-6 and PX-8 engines, said Gary Moore, Kenworth assistant general manager for marketing and sales. This experience will help enhance the ability of Kenworth dealer salespeople to successfully spec the right, high-performing Kenworth T300 for each customer.
