GLENDALE HEIGHTS, Ill. — Three Canadian International dealers were represented at Navistar’s recent technician rodeo, which recognizes the company’s best North American technicians.

The Top Service Technician was Robert Ball of Maudlin International Trucks in Orland, Fla. However, three of the eight finalists were from Canada.

Technicians from: East Coast International Trucks of Dartmouth, N.S.; Les Camions Beaudoin, Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec; and Les Camions Inter-Estrie  – Sherbrooke, Quebec were the Canadian finalists.

The top eight North American technicians competed in categories including air conditioning, brakes, drivetrain and electrical and also had to demonstrate their knowledge of International’s MaxxForce engines. The event featured a head-to-head hands-on competition measuring technical skill and speed.

The Canadian dealers that were involved in the finals were selected from among 370 top technicians based on their performance in online testing.

“Those participating in this competition have completed all the required and optional training and are at the top of their game,” said John Pfennig, Navistar service education manager. “They represent more than 10,000 service technicians from International dealerships, the highest number of any medium/heavy commercial-truck manufacturer.”
