Canadian supplier wins Daimler Trucks honor
PORTLAND, Ore. — Daimler Trucks North America has recognized 35 North American manufacturers as recipients of DTNA’s Masters of Quality supplier quality award for 2008, including one company from Ontario.
Parker Hannifin Canada of Grimsby, Ont. was the lone Canadian supplier to get an award. The company, a motion and control technologies manufacturer, won in the Three-Year category.
The suppliers provide top quality components for Freightliner and Western Star truck brands.
"The level of excellence that our Masters of Quality award winners maintain across their product lines play a large role in enabling us to deliver high quality trucks that provide our customers with significant competitive advantages," said Roger Nielsen, chief operating officer for DTNA.
Nielsen praised all the suppliers stating, "in light of the current downturn in global economy and its impact on truck markets and our suppliers, this is no easy accomplishment. The Masters of Quality winners are the role models for our entire supplier base."
