TORONTO, Ont. — Caravan Logistics Inc. has implemented Cancom Tracking’s OmnniTRACS real-time satellite fleet management system.

According to John Iwaniura, President of Caravan Logistics Inc.,”Communication can be viewed in the form of an analogy in our company – it’s the oil that keeps the engine performing. We decided to invest in a terrestrial-based solution to enhance communication and quickly realized that solution created more inefficiencies than previous, and integration to our dispatch software proved to be difficult.” Iwaniura continued, ” We re-entered the market looking for another solution. We spent a great deal of time understanding the suppliers and their product offerings. We wanted a solution that would be able to integrate to dispatch software and provide reliable, cost-effective robust, ubiquitous coverage."

Caravan experimented with Cancom Tracking’s OmniTRACS technology and decided it fit the bill.

"Since implementing OmniTRACS, Caravan has seen a marked reduction in their communication costs and continues to see savings in this area. Dispatch is much more organized and silent, and they are now able to tell their customers the precise location of their load, estimated ETAs, and provide peace of mind internally and externally,” Iwaniura said.

Caravan Logistics Inc. has been providing logistics solutions for over six years with door-to-door service to all points across North America.

Caravan started with one power unit six years ago and today, the fleet has grown to over 75 power units.
