Caravan Transport Completes Monarch Messenger Purchase

OAKVILLE, ON-Caravan Transport Group Inc., has completed its acquisition of the Calgary-based truckload division of the carrier Monarch Messenger Services Ltd. including its linehaul, city tractor and dedicated division.

Terms of the deal were not released.

The company will use the Monarch name during a transition period.

Caravan retained all employees directly associated with the three divisions.

“By purchasing assets of the truckload division of Monarch Messenger Services Ltd., Caravan Transport Group Inc. is able to further expand and enhance our presence in Western Canada for the benefit of our customers by completing next step in our growth strategy,” said John Iwaniura, President of Caravan Transport.

Additional services and capacity will be made across the Monarch network, according to a news release.

Caravan Transport Group Inc. is a privately owned, asset-based carrier with headquarters in Oakville, ON and terminals in Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
