Carlos Pacheco to head Volvo Trucks de Mexico

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Carlos Pacheco was named managing director of Volvo Trucks de Mexico, effective September 1, 2004.

In this position, he will be responsible for Volvo Trucks North America, Inc.’s commercial operations in Mexico. He will report to Peter Karlsten, president and CEO of Volvo Trucks North America.

Pacheco has served since 1999 as heavy-duty truck sales manager for Volvo do Brasil. After beginning his career in the paper and steel industries, he joined the Volvo Group in 1983, and has held positions of increasing responsibility in service, parts, and sales operations over the last 20 years. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Brazil’s Federal University, and an MBA degree from Fundao Getlio Vargas.

Pacheco succeeds Carl Heikel, who will remain with the Volvo organization in a position to be announced.
