TAMPA, Fla. — Deltek hybrid diesel electric technology from Carrier Transicold won top honours in technical achievement from the Truck Writers of North America (TWNA) at the 2006 Annual Meeting of the Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) of the American Trucking Associations.

The TWNA’s Technical Achievement Award, given since 1991, was presented at the annual TMC Industry Awards luncheon. Carrier’s Deltek led a pack of five finalists selected from nine semi-finalists chosen by a committee of 13 truck journalists working from nominations submitted by TWNA members. Truck News technical editor John G. Smith and executive editor James Menzies were among those on the jury.

In selecting a winner, TWNA seeks innovative products that became commercially available in the calendar year and must advance the art of trucking in some significant way.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with this significant confirmation of Deltek technology as a game changer in the truck and trailer refrigeration industry,” said Ignacio Aguerrevere, director of marketing and product development, Carrier Transicold. “The TWNA is a seasoned group of industry journalists who see hundreds of product developments every year. To have our technology recognized as the best for 2005 by this discerning group is an exceptional honour.”
