Chevron Hits YouTube with Unconventional Videos

What do a gold miner, a logger, a truck driver and a farmer all have in common, aside from the fact you can find them on different “reality television” series?

They are also the starts of videos in Chevron Lubricants’ new “Reality of Delo” campaign.

Each video is based on the Postman’s Creed, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”

This time around, Chevron has taken a little liberty with the unofficial saying of the U.S. Postal Service. Each celebrity uses the beginning of the creed, setting up how “neither rain nor snow” and other trials and tribulations of their profession will keep them from carrying on their duties.

Darrell Ward of Ice Road Truckers says in one video, “Neither rain, nor snow, nor nasty polar vortexes, nor frost heaves, nor 40 straight nights sleeping in a cab, shall stay me and these 500 diesel horses from the swift delivery of freight, wherever it needs to go.”

Other videos have Mike Papac of Ax Men, Freddy Dodge of Gold Rush and Dale Kitchens from The Edge of Farming.

The aim, according to the lubricants manufacturer, is a modern take on a testimonial style advertisement.

You can view the videos on Chevron’s Delo Performance channel on YouTube.
