CITT’s Leadership Through Innovation speaker’s forum set for June 10

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — The Toronto Area Council of the CITT will be holding its Leadership Through Innovation speaker’s forum next Wednesday June 10 in Mississauga.

 

This speaker’s forum focuses on the insights of two leaders who drive innovation through sustainability and collaboration and by leveraging patented innovative analytical technologies that enable companies to identify potential human and/or operational threats long before they reach critical mass or in some instances, create catastrophic scenarios.

 

The event will feature speakers Thomas Tomovic, vice president of transportation and fleet at Saputo Foods and Martin Smith, president of Presage Group. It will be hosted by Transportation Media editorial director Lou Smyrlis.

Mr. Thomas Tomovic – VP Transportation & Fleet

 

Born in Niagara Falls Ontario, Mr. Tomovic has held senior logistics positions at Nestle, George Weston Ltd. and Coca-Cola in Canada and the United States.  He has more than twenty-five years experience in all aspects of the corporate supply chain in the food industry.  His focus for this event will be on sustainability and collaboration to effect the  safe delivery of our family’s food supply.

Dr. Martin Smith is a graduate from the Université du Québec à Montréal, Department of Psychology, with a Ph.D. in clinical and industrial psychology.  His unique blend of clinical and executive coaching experience coupled with expert knowledge in assessing enterprise risk within companies has enabled him develop some of Canada’s most significant leaders’ and their organizations.  He and his company continue to positively impact and significantly reduce risk in the transportation & logistics industry, utilities and nuclear industry, food safety industry, as well as, medical and aviation industries.  

 

Dr. Martin Smith has for years lectured on the unique relationship between Leadership Competency and one’s ability to accurately identify and expertly manage the risks within their organization.  Dr. Smith will be the first to proclaim that from an Organizational Behavior perspective one of the greatest threats to an organization’s success is in fact the “leader”.
