Clarke Inc. appoints new Chief Operating Officer

ETOBICOKE, ONT. — The Board of Directors of Clarke Inc. has appointed Douglas Tayles as Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Clarke Inc., effective January 12, 2004.

Tayles has worked in the transportation business at senior levels in all parts of Canada and the U.S., in the last thirty plus years.

Founded in 1921, Clarke Inc. is a providers of freight transportation and logistics services throughout North America. Through its five operating divisions (Clarke Transport, Clarke Logistics, Concord Transportation, Clarke Road Transport and Clarke Contract Services), the Company offers expedited highway service for both truckload and less-than-truckload (LTL) shippers; intermodal full load and LTL service throughout Canada and between Canada and the U.S; freight marketing and logistics services between locations in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico; and dedicated contract services.

Headquartered in Etobicoke, Ontario, Clarke has offices and distribution facilities across North America and employs in excess of 1500 people.
