MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Cancom Tracking has announced that 40 new Canadian carriers implemented Cancom solutions in the new fiscal year.

“Due to the increasing diversity of needs Canadian carriers have with respect to tracking and communication, Cancom Tracking has expanded its core satellite product suite to include other solutions such as Bluetooth and terrestrial based technology,” said Mike Ham, vice-president, Cancom.

Compass Freight Services was among the companies to get on board with Cancom’s OmniTRACS system.

“The OmniTRACS system enables us to accurately track our customer’s shipments and help us to better achieve our goals and improve every aspect of our service offering,” said Glenn Sawyer, general manager, Compass Freight Services. “Compass felt confident proceeding with OmniTRACS, because it provided the most reliable and proven onboard equipment and a host of extremely useful companion products.”

“With 35,000 units contracted in Canada Cancom will continue to set the pace for communications and data capture,” Ham said. “Cancom will continue to launch new feature-rich solutions such as Automated Arrival and Departure, Automated Hours of Service, and integrated solutions providing fleets with an enterprise-wide flow of reliable information.”
