COMPETITION WATCH: CP completes DM&E Rail acquisition

CALGARY, Alta. — Canadian Pacific (CP) Railway has wrapped up its acquisition of the Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Railroad Corp., positioning itself to offer improved rail service to the Midwest.

The company first announced the agreement on Sept. 4.

CP announced yesterday it has a solid transition plan in place, focusing on safety and customer service. DM&E becomes part of CPs overall US network.
