HERNDON, Vir. — GeoLogic Solutions has announced several fleets have exchanged their previous mobile communications devices for the company’s new MobileMax Multi-Mode system.

MobileMax Multi-Mode is a mobile communications and tracking system that combines satellite and terrestrial communications into a single solution, GeoLogic reports.

Shawn Moore, CEO of R.C. Moore said his fleet was one of the new GeoLogic customers.

"Cost of operation, seamless coverage and customer support" were what led the Scarborough, Maine-based truckload carrier to select the GeoLogic MobileMax system, said Moore. "We looked at other products on the market and this was definitely the most reliable and cost effective because of its multi-mode technology."

R.C. Moore originally used an earlier version of GeoLogic’s technology but it has upgraded the equipment on 135 company tractors.

"We found the store and forward nature of the other product didn’t work for us," Moore added. "We operate in a just-in-time environment and need information immediately. The cost of getting real-time information from the other product was just too expensive."

Meanwhile, DMT Services has swapped its previous satellite-only system for GeoLogic’s latest product.

"Last summer we began looking for a system that would offer us better pricing and more predictable monthly costs," said Bryan Yarbrough, director of IS for DMT. "Our own evaluation told us that the MobileMax system and its multi-mode technology would give us more options and capabilities."

Conway Courier was the third fleet to switch over to GeoLogic’s latest solution.

"We clearly had a need to be able to meet shipper and receiver requests for onboard communications and tracking capabilities," said Jason Johnson, safety director for Conway Courier Service. "The cell phones we had been using to communicate with drivers did not offer the abilities we needed to effectively service our customers. About five months ago we began to evaluate various solutions and compared to a couple of others, the MobileMax system from GeoLogic Solutions was clearly the best choice."
