COMPETITION WATCH: Hercules purchases Cal Pak Delivery Inc.

VANCOUVER, B.C. — Hercules Forwarding Inc. has acquired Cal Pak Delivery Inc., a regional California carrier.

The purchase will expand Hercules current Hayward CA terminal, and add two new terminals in Sacramento CA and Reno NV. Cal Pak annual revenues were $10 Million with 9,000 shipments a month. In addition to the terminals, 150 pieces of equipment and 60 employees are now added to Hercules system.

“The purchase will expand our direct coverage in Northern California, adding California intrastate as well as direct service from Reno NV. The added terminals will expand our direct network to 24 terminals. Extensive planning has taken place to ensure a seamless transition for these new customers and new lanes” said Martin T Burnham Jr., Vice President of North American Sales for the motor carrier.

Hercules is a full service asset based motor carrier, now moving 25,000 LTL shipments per month and revenues of 70 Million. The Vancouver BC based carrier services all major Canadian Cities from the United States, as well as selected US regional markets through one of the 24 "no break-bulk" terminals. Hercules employs over 500 people in North America.

Hercules is a general commodities carrier and services customers in many different industries such as retail, automotive, manufacturing and distribution.
