MARKHAM, Ont. — Highland Transport’s company drivers will be enjoying a wider variety of music and entertainment while driving, thanks to an agreement between the carrier and XM Satellite Radio.

XM and Highland inked a deal providing satellite radio service to the company’s entire team of company drivers at no cost to the drivers themselves. The fleet says it’s also working to provide a deal for owner/operators that would allow them to tap into satellite radio at below market rates.

Bill Kalbhenn, general manager, risk management for Highland, says “It is our goal to add some comforts for our driving force as we certainly appreciate the excellent job they do for us.”

XM Satellite Radio provides more than 100 channels of commercial-free music, comedy, news and sports coverage.
