MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — ITN Logistics Group has acquired majority share ownership in Intercontinental Customs Services.

Following the acquisition, which was completed in December, ITN Logistics renamed Intercontinental to Integral Trade Networks and moved it to the ITN location on Cardiff Blvd. in Mississauga.

The Intercontinental acquisition allows us to offer better customs brokerage services by managing the function internally, said Ian Kennedy, director of ITN Logistics Group. While we have always offered brokerage services, it has been through a strategic partner. By bringing the brokerage service in-house and making it integral to our complete logistics solution, we expect to help our customers realize better efficiency for their international trade requirements.

For ITN customers, company officials say the acquisition offers significant value in terms of efficiency in processing import and export orders for Canadian and US customs clearance.

Intercontinental customers will benefit from a single-source supplier for their overseas and Trans Border shipments, including consolidated invoicing, faster clearance of imported goods, and a supplier that takes ownership if issues arise said ITN director, Jeremy Ray.
