COMPETITION WATCH: Mullen closes acquisition of Hi-Way 9

OKOTOKS, Alta. — Mullen Group has closed the previously announced acquisition of Hi-Way 9 Express, Load-Way, Streamline Logistics, and 1006213 Alberta Ltd. in a cash and shares transaction effective June 1.

Hi-Way 9 has been in business since 1969 and is a recognized leader in Alberta in the less-than-truckload transportation business. The companies will operate as wholly-owned subsidiaries of Mullen Group.

Mullen Group also announced that Dean Kohut, Heather Colberg and Darrell Kohut, the senior management team of Hi-Way 9, have agreed to remain with Hi-Way 9 to oversee its ongoing operations.
