COMPETITION WATCH: New CEO takes over at Celadon

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. — Celadon Group Inc., has a new President and Chief Operating Officer. Chris Hines is now driving the day-to-day operations of the Indianapolis-based, international truckload carrier.

With more than 20 years of experience, Hines has a track record of leading complex organizations in the trucking industry. Prior to joining Celadon in his current role, he had previously served on Celadon’s board of directors since July 2006.

Hines is past President of GE Capital’s TIP Trailer Services where he directed 125 branches and 1,100 employees representing annualized revenue of $450 million. While working in various positions with TIP for 16 years, he was also responsible for building a national account network, an asset financing operation, a mobile maintenance business, and an integrated trailer remarketing unit.

Most recently, Hines was CEO of Tripmaster Corp., an onboard computer and asset management company primarily serving the trucking industry. He has also served on the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) Board of Directors since 2001 and is a past board member and council leader of the Truck Rental and Leasing Association (TRALA). He has received a lifetime achievement award from the American Trucking Associations (ATA).

Celadon Group Inc. (www.celadongroup.com), through its subsidiaries, primarily provides long-haul, full-truckload freight service across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The company also owns TruckersB2B Inc. (www.truckersb2b.com) which provides cost savings to member fleets.
