COMPETITION WATCH: PMTC reminding members of May 1 deadline for annual awards entries

OAKVILLE, Ont. — The Priviate Motor Truck Council is reminding its members to send their entries for one of its three annual awards before the May 1 deadline. The awards will be presented at the PMTC annual conference.

The three entry competitions include: Vehicle Graphics Design Awards, Hall of Fame for Professional Drivers and Private Fleet Safety Award.

PMTC and 3M Vehicle Graphics Design Awards Competition recognizes fleet operators and graphic design companies who graphically enhance their vehicles. The competition is open to all Canadian fleet operators. Awards are presented in six categories: Tractor-Trailer Combination; Straight Truck; Special Events/Promotion; Night-Time Safety, Light Duty Commercial Truck and Identity Fleet Graphics.

PMTC and Shaw Tracking Hall of Fame for Professional Drivers was established to recognize superior over the road performance of drivers employed by members of the PMTC. The PMTC is seeking nominations for 2007.

PMTC and Zurich Private Fleet Safety Award was created to encourage improved road safety for the general public and promote best practices in private fleet safety management. The awards recognize the private truck fleets most committed to safety improvement, especially where they exceed National Safety Code requirements. This years competition is open to all Canadian private truck fleets.
