REGINA, Sask. — Schneider Group of Companies and Prudhomme Trucks, both Regina-based trucking companies, recently revealed they combining operations.

The deal will see the creation of a $40 million company with 275 employees. Schneider will become the parent of the new organization.

This is a win for all stakeholders, said Denis Prudhomme, president of Prudhomme Trucks. Our truckload service is a perfect complement to the LTL (less than truckload) van operations of the Schneider Group.

The two organizations currently offer a wide array of complimentary services. Prudhomme Trucks provides truckload van services from Montreal to Vancouver. While Schneider Group of Companies provides primarily flatdeck carrier service within North America, as well as truckload van services in western and central Canada, as well as into the southwestern US.

Combining operations with Prudhomme Trucks is part of our ongoing investment strategy in Western Canada, said Don Schneider, president of the Schneider Group of Companies. Utilizing our proven management systems and leading edge technology, we believe we are well positioned for future growth and profitability.

Customers should expect no disruption in service. Both companies will continue to operate from their existing locations in Regina following the merger. Prudhomme Trucks CEO, Mark Lemmerick will be leading the integration of the combined companies.

We believe Prudhommes strong presence in Western Canada will enhance the north-south service currently offered by Schneider, and vice-versa. More depth means better service for our customers, said Schneider.

The move is also a good one for employees as it will strengthen both companies and position the new entity as a strong player in the North American market. The employees of Prudhomme and Schneider have been integral to the success of these organizations.

With approximately 200 total power units and a combined employment of 275 people, we will become a major player in the ever-competitive North American transportation industry and well be doing it with our great staff based right here in Regina, added Schneider.
