COMPETITION WATCH Schneider appoints new CFO

GREEN BAY, Wisc. — David Vander Ploeg, senior VP, finance for Schneider National, will become chief financial officer effective Jan. 3. <br>

Vander Ploeg will replace Thomas Gannon, who has been elected to Schneider National’s board of directors and will serve as vice-chairman and secretary of the corporation. <br>

“Dave’s experience managing the financial operations at Schneider National will help him to lead the company’s growth on a global scale,” said Christopher Lofgren, president and CEO of Schneider National. “His pragmatic instincts and strong business acumen have been a tremendous asset to the executive team for the past three years and we look forward to his continued success in this expanded capacity.” <br>

Vander Ploeg joined Schneider in 1983 and brings more than 20 years of experience to his new position. As senior VP, finance, he has overseen all financial operations, including accounting and analysis, corporate purchasing, management reporting, strategic planning and acquisitions-related initiatives. Prior to joining Schneider he was senior auditor for Arthur Andersen & Co. Vander Ploeg holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. <br>
