COMPETITION WATCH: TransForce completes Kos acquisition

DRAYTON VALLEY, Alta. — TransForce Income Fund has announced it has completed the acquisition of Kos Oilfield Transportation.

The deal included a combination of TransForce units and cash. Kos, located in Drayton Valley, Alta., provides transportation services to the energy industry in Western Canada. It specializes in dismantling, hauling and re-assembling drilling and service oil and gas rigs.

The company has six offices in Alberta, 215 employees and a full range of specialized equipment. It is expected to generate $77 million in revenue for 2006.

“We are very pleased to welcome the people of Kos to TransForce as part of our growing group of businesses based in Western Canada,” said Alain Bdard, chairman of the board, president and CEO of TransForce Income Fund.
