CALGARY, Alta. — Trimac Transportation has announced it has purchased Benson Tank Lines for $4 million.

Benson transports liquid chemicals primarily out of the Vancouver area, Washington State and Alberta. The purchase includes about 60 trailers and 35 power units, Trimac announced.

“I would like to welcome Benson’s professional driving and administration staff to Trimac,” said Ed Malysa, president and COO of Trimac. “Benson has been a well managed business for over 40 years. This acquisition is consistent with Trimac’s strategic objective to expand market share within its core product lines. Benson’s customer base, employees and assets complement our bulk chemical business in Western Canada.”
