TORONTO, Ont. — XTL Transport has received the 2008 Green Transport award from Transport Canada and the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Canada.

The award is presented to companies that have set and exceeded high standards for environmental friendliness in the handling and shipment of products to customers. To qualify, carriers must operate in an ethical manner and actively seek ways to improve their environmental performance.

XTL says it achieved this by: reducing fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions; developing an action plan detailing how each of its goals will be achieved; and reporting progress as it pursued and achieved its goals.

Craig Germain, president of XTL Logistics, accepted the award on behalf of XTL Group during the Supply Chain and Logistic Association’s annual conference May 6.
