Court ends truckers’ boycott

MONTREAL, Que. — Ivaco Inc. last night obtained a court order requiring three carriers which supply services to Ivaco to continue to supply such services.

Justice James Farley of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice issued the order.

A group of trucking companies (among them the companies named in the court order) yesterday announced a boycott of Ivaco in order to obtain payment of amounts owing to them prior to the date on which Ivaco Inc. obtained court protection under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act.

Ivaco immediately sought confirmation from the court that such conduct would not be condoned. As a result of this Order, trucking services to Ivaco have resumed, say company officials.
