Cowan Systems names new president

BALTIMORE, MD – Logistics service provider Cowan Systems, LLC has completed a leadership transition with Dennis Morgan assuming the role of president.

The change was effective as of Jan. 1.

Cowan, known for its dedicated fleet operations along the eastern seaboard, has grown its transportation footprint to include Cowan Logistics, Cowan Intermodal, and Cowan Warehousing and Single Source Logistics.

Joseph W. Cowan, chairman of the board of directors, said he is confident Morgan is the right person for the job, as Cowan opens a new chapter of growth.

“He has the proven ability to create strategic clarity, drive innovation and growth, ensure disciplined execution, and deliver results,” he said. “We believe his knowledge of and passion for the transportation industry will help ensure the success of all our businesses.”

Morgan, who is also the current chief operating officer of Cowan Systems, has worked for the company for 36 years. He has held roles as chief financial officer and chief information officer. During his tenure, the company has grown from a regional carrier to a full-service logistics provider. The company will reach $450 million in sales in fiscal year 2014.
